I’ve never found the extra space needed to the right side of the saw to be an issue. I place my DC right where the carriage extends to the right. So when I need to cut big panels, which isn’t often, I just nudge the DC over (it’s on wheels) to give clearance for the carriage. Unless you just have an exceptionally small shop, this really isn’t a “con.” As far as using digital accessories with regular T-fences, maybe. But with the Incra, you lock down immediately on 1/32” increments because of the lead-screw design. That means for wicked fast cuts, something you couldn’t really get with a digital T-fence. Of course, the other half of the package is when you put a router in your TS wing. The router package and wonder fence provide great amounts of versatility and functionality. But even if I didn’t have that, the TS fence MORE than pays for itself in time saved. -- jay, www.allaboutastro.com |
