I was told before that a floor polyurethane has better abrasion resistance than standard polyurethane finishes. If I’m remembering what the guy told me correctly, the floor poly has a slight abrasiveness to it of its own, to help with traction, which helps with resisting wearing as well.

That’s information that I gathered from the local Rockler finishes guy, when I was inquiring about finish for a table that will have a sewing machine on it.
