I don’t think HF is any different than say, Sears. Sears changes their models every year. Depends on where they can get their best deal. When Dewalt markets a tool, they cost more because they have to keep a spare parts inventory that cheaper tool companies don’t. Getting a spare part from one of these companies can be a hit-or-miss proposition. They may have it as long as they are still under contract with the supplier. Companies have contracts with suppliers to provide spares for a limited amount of time. This could be as short as one year or twenty years. Usually the length of warranty will be an indication.
