Glad to hear it…Such beautiful and gentle creatures. We have lots of humpbacks around for most of the summer here. I’ve been on the water in a small sailboat and had one come up and check us out. Rolled on it’s side to get a good look at us from 20 ft away. We took down the sails and just drifted and it stayed with us for almost 1/2 hour. You could tell he was just curious. Had a mother and calf swim under me off Maui. I was getting ready to jump off the boat for a quick dip when I saw them coming…maybe 30 ft down…incredibly impessive sight. Unfortunately they were gone by the time I retrieved a mask, fins and underwater camera.

Makes you wonder how the Japanese, Norwegians and others can still kill them for meat. How a culture that seems so civilized in so many ways can still be so barbaric as to slaughter such obviously intelligent creatures is beyond me.
