Richard, If it was an oil based stain, then you may be able to take a little mineral spirits and desolve the solid enough to get it so you could at least put some on a sample board to work with. All your pigmented stains will use some sort of “vehicle” to suspend the pigments in to allow you to work with it and the “vehicle” will dry or evaporate when you apply your stain. Usually mineral spirits will work as a “vehicle”. Just remember, the more mineral spirits you mix with the pigments, the more it will be deluted which in turn will change the density of color. -- John @ http://www.thehuffordfurnituregroup.com |
