I have the Performax Supermax 25 single drum sander. Are you cutting the tapered ends square about 1” to 1-1/2” from where the taper comes to a point? This can help with getting the paper into the end clamps and not curl up inside that tiny space. Are you leaving any kind of a gap in between your wraps? I usually have to tighten a new wrap after a few passes. I check all the wraps to be sure nothing has overlapped and everything is tight. You can also call Supermax customer support and get some excellent help.

I have purchased the bulk rolls from Klingspor with much success. Purpleheart is still a challenge to sand, but oh well.
