The 735 is an excellent machine.

You need to:
1) know that the motor runs without an audible noise – it’s a loud machine, but it has a consistent tone.
2) The set/allen screws which hold the blades should be checked to ensure they’re not frozen, missing, or stripped in some manner. The allen wrench is a standard size, so bring along a set, if the original one is missing.
3) Speed changes – must be checked; as mentioned, the machine must be running.
4) Plane at least two boards, to ensure the boards are planed to the same thickness both edge-to-edge and when compared to each other.
5) Ensure you get the dust collection adapter/connector – this is a molded plastic connector which fits onto a fixed pin on the back of the machine.
