Grainger appeals mostly to people who are shopping on
the company dime. They ship fast, so in a pinch they
get the goods to you.

For some parts Grainger is not too unreasonable and I
have gone to the local one and got stuff on will call. For
power tools the Grainger prices are insane.

Think about it from the POV of a guy running a crew for
a film shoot. He’s got a blank check but the labor is
costing a fortune because of union wages and overtime
pay, so he wants his guys equipped with whatever they
need. The overpriced tools are easy to write off and
the cost dwarfs the cost of the labor standing around.
