When depth stop on my TS75 is set to 0 the saw blade does not reach to the surface of the material by about 1.5 mm. This is without guide rail and with Festool stock blade (actually measured diameter is 209.5 mm). If this was the other way around (the blade reaches too deep) it could be adjusted with a set screw on top of the depth stop. In my case the blade simply can't go any lower. All parts are where they should be and there is no damage of any kind. Has anyone else seen this?
The guide rail thickness to the top of green slide strips is exactly 5.00 mm. Hence, when the saw is placed on the guide rail the blade would scratch the material only at 7 mm setting (not 5 mm as it is supposed to). Further, the maximum cutting depth on/off rail is 68/73 mm (not 70/75 mm).
I also noticed that even if the blade could be lowered to full 75 mm depth (suppose depth stop is not on the way) arbor washer would rub against saw blade housing. This problem has been described elsewhere: http://www.woodworkforums.com/archive/index.php/t-85937.html
Since most of cuts with this kind of saw are through cuts I was wondering if this is a common problem and users simply don't notice 1.5 mm depth difference? (Yes I'm THAT particular!) Would any of you, TS75 owners, care to verify depth setting on your saw and share your observation? Thank you.
