Miter Saw Table Woes

Almost since the day I got it my miter saws table has been difficult to swivel. It feels like and sounds like there is a sawdust buildup under the swivel table mechanism but I don't know for sure. Now, it's not like I don't clean this saw as I use compressed air to clean it after each use. The saw is a Craftsman so that might explain a lot. For those of you who own different brands than Craftsman/Ridgid/Ryobi, do you have this type of problem as well? I'm about ready to junk this POC but don't want to buy something different if I'm going to just have the same problem.

It's a #21253 10" non-slider and returning it is not an option as I've been putting up with this situation for a number of years now. A project this past weekend was the straw that broke the proverbial camels back! I'm just tired of fighting with this saw every time I want to use it. I was just trying to find out what makes of miter saws don't have this problem or is it a common occurrence with most miter saws?

Greg, I totally agree and at some point I will be replacing this saw with something besides a Craftsman/Ridgid/Ryobi. For those wondering why I'm lumping the Ridgid and Ryobi in with the Craftsman it's simply because they are all made by OWT/Ryobi. In my mind, if I'm having this problem with the Craftsman then I would expect I'd have the same problem with a Ridgid or Ryobi.

I have an almost ancient, well used Dewalt DW705 I bought at a pawn shop about 14 years ago, I think. It works great unless sawdust build up makes it difficult - I've cut a lot of wet pressure-treated wood and find that this clogs the swivel joint and table quickly. I use compressed air to clean it, but find I have to dismantle and clean the swivel joint once I'm done with a large PT wood project. I've also found a good silicone lubricant keeps it working smoothly for longer.

Dewalt 12" slider. 8 yrs. no problem. It took some work to get it adjusted when new, but it has been rock solid since.

That Hitachi is too crazy looking for me, lol. I've heard good things about both it and the Bosch. Keep in mind that some of these things are Hyooooooge.
.
The Kapex is $1350.00
The stand is $800.00
The universal blade is $129.00
The hold down clamp is $71.00
You'll probably want at least the medium-sized extractor (CT-36) for $750.00
.
So you're at $3100.00
.
Simply unjustifiable for me and I've got a pretty decent shop budget.

I have a Sears/Emerson from the mid 90s non slider and it's backbreaking to move around, I think it's close to 70 pounds. I was looking at a baby 7 1/2 inch Kobalt slider at Lowes that is extremely light weight, but that's probably why it would suck - too light weight.

Thanks all for the feedback. On Tuesday I decided enough was enough and pulled the trigger on a Makita LS1016L. I'd been lusting after one of those since my FIL bought a LS1013 a few years back. Local HD had it marked down to $449 so I even get a mini-gloat to boot.

For what it's worth, I have a cheapo Chicago Electric #98194 12" sliding compound miter saw. I have been using the living snot out of the poor thing since I put it into service, and the movement of this saw is smooth as sillk.
