Conditioner probably will sink in and you will never know you put it on there after a day or two.
Agree with Katdaddy, you need a nice, thick gloss coat that will put that wet look on.
If you must condition, Minwax has a stain called “Natural”. You can see the bottom of the can when you open it, but it will put a beautiful color on your cedar, and you can follow that up with a gloss poly.
