As Cliff alluded to, Stanley, Black & Decker (which also owns DeWalt and Porter Cable) sold off the Delta brand last year to another group to be a separate company. They set up manufacturing faclities in Tennessee and have been trying to get rolling. There have been a few hiccups along the way, but they have introduced several new tools in the past several months (new steel frame bandsaw and several new stationary sanders) and last I heard are looking to have even more new items out yet this year.

A lot of old models are not currently available because either 1) they are going to be replaced or 2) the manufacturing machining just isn’t set up, yet. That last has been a headache for dealers and customers, along with just trying to get product. Demand is ahead of the new company’s ability to supply at the moment. Last I knew, Delta is moving forward slowly, but steadily.

Edit: Thanks, bondo. I had the old vs new locations messed up in my head.
