Lots of 1” arbor blades available on ebay, for cheap.

Don’t turn it down to 5/8”. Foolish and you’ll ruin
the saw’s resale value.

I’ve not found blade boring to be anywhere near
$15-$25 per blade but it has been awhile. I had
a dado set opened up some years ago for a saw
I had with a 30mm arbor and it was probably $45
for the job. I had some other work done at the
same time so they might have done it cheaper
than normal. The shop had no reason to alienate
me by gouging – I just went in there and said
I was a pro and bought a blade from them too.

You can get a special kind of milling cutter and
do it yourself on a drill press. My brother who was
a machinest got me one to enlarge 5/8” holes to
3/4” for a saw I had. It worked great but I ran
it too fast once and smoked the carbide.
