I would keep to 1/2” myself. I tried a 3/4” Timberwolf blade on my 14” PM, because they advertise they need less tension, and I still could not get enough tension to get a good cut in a 10” resaw. I bought a 1/2” woodslicer and it works great; I recommend it. I hear it dulls relatively quickly, but the next step is carbide, and I’m not ready to invest that much yet. I would aim for a 1/2” blade, no more than 3tpi (woodslicer is a 3-4tpi skip tooth design). If you’re really looking for 12” resaw, less than 3tpi might be better. You want big gullets to clear the sawdust. -- John |
