Sound like it’s overheating and the thermal protector is opening. If it’s got two capacitors, capacitive start./capacitive run it could very well be the run capacitor, I would start there. If it’s only got one capacitor it could be that the centrifugal switch isn’t opening when up to speed. You mentioned the contacts were cleaned but is it working? Turn it on for a bit then turn it off and listen, as it comes to a stop you should hear a click, that be the switch closing. If you don’t here that it’s possible the switch is never opening and the start winding is staying energized which it is not designed to do.
