I hate to be a kill joy, but the best thing about that purchase are the added perks. I own several machines from Grizzly and have been relatively happy with them. but the 1029 I would never bother spending even a peney on. The ones that I have seen were sub-par. A neighbor of mine bought one a few years back and knowing I was a woodworker asked if I would help him get it tuned up. In short, it was a nightmare. Now I’m sure there are plenty of 1029 owners out there who would dissagree with me and I don’t want to get their dandruf up. But before I would pay good money for that saw I would check for run out. We couldn’t get the blade to run parallel with the miter gage slots so check that. Run the saw to check for excessive vibration. A lot of used car salesmen put new tires on old cars because you can’t feel the alignment issues when test driving it. Ya know what I mean?
