I`m looking for some suggestions from all my learned colleagues. :)

I'm going to be in the Fredericksburg, VA area for a week in September and wondering what woodworking related things I should to try to see while there? I`ll be landing in Richmond around noon on a Sunday, will be free all evenings and then flying home late Saturday afternoon. If there are other non-woodworking (heaven forbid!) things I should see or great places to eat, I would appreciate knowing about them as well. Thanks.

I'm from that area, but can't think of anything woodworking-y there. Don's got a good suggestion. In Colonial Williamsburg they do have period furniture makers.

You might also check with Kaleo Kala, who is also from that area. He's here on LumberJocks as well as having his own website (just Google).

I too am from that area originally. In Williamsburg they have craftsman making repairs on period pieces as well as producing period copies using the same tools etc from that period. I thought it was pretty cool myself.

Thanks, guys! Looks like Wiiliamsburg is the place :)

Would like to meet the fellow that won the FWW contest… what an entry!
