There are a bunch of plans for homemade dust collectors.. from using a 5gal bucket to large garbage cans and 55 gallon drums. Try doing a search for "homemade dust collection" and you will get tons of results.
Here are a couple sites to check out. More info on Dust collecting than i could ever understand or retain. My plans are to go with Phil Thien's design wich seems to work really well scaled the size you want. I'll be going with a 30 gal brute trash can. Some show their build on youtube. Lots of different ways to do it with the same design. just search Thien dust collector on youtube.
follow the link for thien's baffle. iyt's great. i've built 2 of them and they work really well. put the $90 you save building one yourself vs. buying a DD towards getting more tools.
The dust deputy cyclone is 39.99. The rest of the parts you probably already have.
