The bandsaw I purchased has a 2 switch start up. I must pull the top switch out then rotate the bottom switch to the right. The Luguna I purchased has a 13” resaw capability which will be plenty for my purposes. I believe it has the cool blocks on it as well. I ran my new wiring to it, (runs 30 amp @ 240 volt). Using the 1.25 resaw blade that came with the saw I ripped a piece of oak. It was almost as smooth as as the table saw cuts, and it was a very accurate cut. A big upgrade from my 1/2 HP 14” Rockwell (which I still have a soft spot for). The blade or the guides must be off a tad though, the saw makes a brief rubbing noise once a rotation. With time, I’ll get to the bottom of it. I know the knew Luguna’s have matched resaw with wheel size and the must have multiple manufacturing locations now. This saw appears to have been manufactured by ACM for Luguna. I know it is early, but I believe this is the last bandsaw I will buy (which is more than can be said for some of my other tools) Thanks again -- Rog; part time woodworker, part time biker, full time family man and living life |
