Be careful with lacquer and water slides. Test first to see if the lacquer will dissolve the water slide. As I recall from my model airplane building, there is a compatibility problem. In the past, I have worked around this by using an airbrush to mist on a few coats of lacquer.The mist is almost dry when it hits the water slide and you can slowly build up enough of a base so you can finish applying more coats of lacquer.
