I had the money to go out and buy a stationary planer but instead bought the dewalt. My father and uncle have had one for several years. These things are beasts. The only difference is the speed in which you can get it planed down. I agree with the other post above, get the extensions. it took the snipe completely out of mine. I also went on their website and bought the hose with the filter bag that attaches to a 55 gallon drum. Makes emptying a breeze.
