For the record, Melamine glue will adhere Melamine to a wood (even MDF) surface, but will not glue MM to MM.

Gluing the fronts on is folly and a waste of time, not to mention a major headache if there is a repair needed in the future. I can’t imagine Steve’s use of contact cement. If it goes on crooked, the options are grim.

I predrill four (oversize) holes through the front of the drawer box and predrill my pull holes in the to-be-attached front. I put the carcase on its back and align the front where I want it and drive two temp screws into the box through the pull holes.

It sounds a little busy but it’s really a very fluid process and all fronts can be done at the same time.

I stand it up and attach my four interior screws, then back out the two in the front, drill through, and it’s ready for a pull. I do any final fine tuning via the drawer slide.
