You absolutely must bond the melmac to the mdf or else you will cut the beejeesus on the edges as they won’t stay down and flat. Contact cement is best and easiest for this. I haven’t used spray, and would hesitate to without serious ventillation and protection. My choice has allways been solvent based. I usually roll it on. If it’s a big enough project, I buy a special roller made for contact cement.
