I’ve never glued drawer fronts to drawer boxes. I use washer head screws in a slightly oversized hole to allow some leeway for final reveal adjustment.
Get the fronts aligned properly and drill for the pulls/knobs.
Sheetrock screws are not the best fastener for anything but sheetrock (IMO).
Just my way.
