Scott, it gives 2.8cfm @40 psi, which is not great for spraying unless it’s really small projects.
I have the qualspray QS-125WB detail gun that uses 4 cfm and it makes my makita twin stack run a decent amount, but not a ton. The same gun would probably have the hitachi running more often, but I’ve read that some guys use that gun with a porter cable pancake with no problems.

So in short, it will run nailers just fine, but hvlp would be ok with only a small gun and small projects.
