I have the same size Ryobi version of the Performax, but there almost identical in design. I bought the Jet paper off Amazon and I have not had a problem with any of the grits as of yet. I have seen the comments that people made in regards to the Jet paper being crappie, but I have not had any problems.

I don’t know if this is where our machine differs but I don’t require a tool to unhook the latch to change out the paper. On the Ryobi I can reach my finger down and pull it up to run the end of the sandpaper through the clasp and then the sprinkler on the mech. hold tension on the sandpaper around the roll. It’s not fun to change paper on a drum sander but once you get used to it, it goes rather quick.

Hope this helps.
