I've been non-active in the shop lately - Here's why

I haven't done any projects in the workshop for about 3 weeks now, due to the fact that I've just been busy doing other things around here, also a few days ago, I was given a 2-month photography assignment at my local airport here. I got a phone call a couple of days ago from a pilot friend of mine who lives about 60 miles from here. He is a member of the Abbotsford Flying Club. The club has brought a 1977 Piper Cherokee to my local airport here in Pitt Meadows to undergo a complete overhaul and refurbishment, including all new leather seats and interior upholstery, engine rebuild and exterior paint job to the plane. The club has asked me to photographically document the entire operation (on a daily basis) to take photos of the complete restoration process, so this is what I'm busy doing right now. Prior to this, I was also doing aviation photography at a couple of local airports (another passion of mine). I love photographing aircraft on the ground as well as in the air. The nice sunny, warm weather has also finally arrived here, and now with this big photography project underway, I may not get a chance to 'smell the sawdust' for a few months. Retirement from my day job has been good, and I don't know how I ever had time to go to work all those years. I'll still try to find time to drop in here on LJ and see the latest projects and forum discussions as time allows. Hopefully I'll get back in the workshop in a few months time. Until then, stay healthy and happy, and keep those woodworking projects coming!

Hey, Trev, what the hell. Enjoy yourself and have a blast. The world don't revolve around woodworking. A while back I spent almost a whole month photographing a nest of robins while they were raisin' their chicks. I had a blast doing that. Everything was going fine until a big fat no good mean ass blue jay attacked the mother robin and knocked her right out of the nest to the ground. They both went right straight down to the ground behind the bushes next to my patio. I jumped up and ran around the bush and ran that bastard off before he killed her. I told him if he came back I'd knock the hell out of him with a block of wood. From that day on I had an ample supply of blocks on my patio table but he never came back. After that both the mother and the father gave me a lot better pictures. I guess it was their way of thankin' me. Hey, enjoy your retirement - I bet you've earned it. Be sure to post the link to the pictures. I'd like to see 'em.

The main thing is to keep busy .I personally can't do mutch but sometimes I go to my woodshop and tinker about tidying things and listening to music it is far better than wasting away in front of the tv ,but your a different position form me so do what brings you joy .
I used to do photography for years developing all my own black and white stuff which I enjoyed and since digital cameras have given up. Alistair

Thanks Trev, for the update and the link to the pictures.
I think I saw four airplanes in your pictures that I probably touched, and one that I may have touched. I can't really tell if that's a 737-200 that may have come down the line in the eighties or earlier.
Thanks for all the fine pictures.
