Hi, I would like some help identifying this wood that I got this pallet wood from a piece of cnc equipment from Asia, the large piece the small one is sitting on is what it looks like rough, and the finished piece I used light brown stain, it feels denser than cedar, and lighter than oak. any info would be great
Birch… It's more comon in asia than maple, it also has the yellow and purpleish pink hughes uncharacteristic of maple. Maple is a close guess, I often use birch to match maple when the customer can't afford maple plywood.
i just got some pallet wood last week that's the same as yours. i'm thinking it's birch. it looks somewhat like maple, but the smell wasn't right.
