I purchased one a couple of months ago. To be honest, I haven’t used it too much, but it does perform pretty well. I haven’t even sharpened the iron yet. In addition to the comments that David made, I have heard of people complaining that the iron doesn’t bed well in the sole, but this definitely isn’t an issue with mine. For the price, I think it’s a pretty good plane and if you find that there’s something wrong with it, you can send it back.
