Greetings from Canada !!!

I have a Delta 50-760 dust collector plugged into a dedicated 240v 20A line.
Getting tired of going across shop to turn on DC.
I would like to get a remote control for this unit and was wondering if anyone has tried the LR220-3 220V Long Ranger (Heavy Duty Remote Switching System) for use on dust collectors up tp 3HP.

The Delta 50-760 is only 1.5Hp , so before I spend $100 bucks, I would like to know if this Long Ranger remote will work ok on the 50-760. Any power start-up problems here?

Thanks !!!!

I've been using a remote switch that was intended for outdoor holiday lights.
At first, one may assume it can't handle the inrush of a heavy duty dust collector, but it has served the purpose for me for several years.
I checked the amp draw on the DC and found it to be just about at the maximum draw rated for the switch.

I use the Long Ranger III 220v on my Jet DC1100 system. Absolutely no problems and I have three remotes scattered around the shop for convenience. You can get the remotes for ~$20 each.

Something cool about the Long Ranger is that the remotes can be programmed to work with the switch. Some other brands won't do that so if a remote dies you gotta replace the whole system instead of just replacing a remote.

I used the predecessor to that model for over 8 years on a 2.5 HP DC, and it was great. After I dropped the remote once too often onto the concrete floor it quit working. I replaced it with a Shop Fox (cheaper, 2 remotes) that last about a year before the thing fell apart. If you're going to buy a commercial DC remote, stay with the Long Ranger…...unless the unit from Clearvue or a similar one, will handle your amp load. Those are far cheaper and actually work very well. They are also a lot less painful, moneywise, when they do fail.
