Greetings.. first time poster…long time reader…
I picked up a used Grizzly 14" bandsaw a while back (boy, was it heavy! j/k)
Anyway, it came with a 1/8" blade with around 10 TPI, which is probably the original blade, but I really got nice smooth clean cuts. The blade has finally broken and being Easter weekend I knew ordering one was not going to get me a blade very quickly. In my small Ky town I really don't have many options. Lowes was the best I could find so I picked up their Bosch 1/8" blade with 15 TPI. I loaded it up and tightened it a bit. It seems to cut fine except for the cut surface has a washboard look to it. I cranked down the tension as far as my saw will go and it did improve the smoothness alot. I have adjusted the guide blocks snugly.
I still don't have the smoothness in the cut that I did with the other blade.. is this just the nature of the big box store blade or is there something more on adjustment I could try?
I still plan to order a better quality blade like a TW, but would like to understand this blade as well and keep it as a backup.. it was only ten bucks anyways.
Thanks in advance for your advice!
Brian
