I’ve had the same problem before. I never know what to do either. I think I’d try to go with matching the color and then the grain if you don’t have/want to buy a board large enough for all three fronts. I am did up buying a board that would was light enough for all three drawer fronts. I Messed around with trying to match color and grain for drawer fronts that would be seen will be seen all the time. My wife’s more forgiving about this and doesn’t care as much as I do. I’m like you it just bugs the crap out of me when I don’t have enough wood to match drawer fronts from a single piece.
