Check the cord first after that brushes and switch are next probable (and most common) suspects. After that the condition of the commutator can be an issue as the brake on these saws powered by universal motors short the motor as a generator and are very rough on brushes and commutators. Any spade connectors can become loose over time with enough temperature cycling resulting in intermittent operation.
