I’m not sure what a zci is, but if it’s a zero clearance insert, yes you need to buy another insert. As a matter of fact, I often remove the plate when doing a 45’ cut, depending on its’ thickness. My saw is a Jet cabinet saw and it has served me very well for 11 years. It’s the smallest cabinet saw but it’s been the perfect saw me!
