If this jointer is of the wedge design where the tables slide up and down on ways and has gibs, the way to adjust the tables is by use of metal shims placed strategically on the ways to lift the table. Pretty much by trail and error. Put a shim in and see how much the table moves then adjust the shims thickness until you dial it in. My 8” jointer was like that, one of the reasons why I replaced it with one that has a parallelogram table lift mechanism.
