98% of the time, I draw up my own set of plans….I have a degree in drafting techonolgy, and have all the equipment to do it with, so it kinda goes with the territory of drafting my own….I usually start with an idea in my head, then a rough sketch for size, diminisions, etc. Then I draw it up to the final draft….some subtile changes may have to be made, but nothing much. I build custom furniture for folks, so I go by what they want, and makes a few changes, if necessary….You can’t hardly find plans for things like that, so you have no choice but to draw your own….I can only remember building one thing (maybe2) by a set of plans: the NYW router table (the second one Norm built), where I ordered the plans and DVD….still got them both…All of my shop furniture and benches I built just using my own plans….
