Can’t speak to the Grizzly but I put a Shelix on my DeWalt 735 and I wouldn’t have spent the money on the Shelix if I hadn’t thought it was worth it. And it was, I am very happy with it. The Shelix cost me around what I paid for the planer which is a hard pill to swallow. But I bought my planer back in 2004 I think when they were in the $400 price range.

And in the long run I think the Shelix type cutterhead is more cost effective. Nick a HHS blade and it’s sharpening or replacement. Nick a insert and you’ve got 3 more times to do it in that same spot before having to spend ~$10 to replace the 3 (that’s based on my Shelix) inserts aligned with that spot.
