Thanks for the info. It seemed to be in pretty good condition so I ended up buying it. The spec sheet is not lying when it says it weighs 488 lbs. It was pretty easy to lift into the bed of an f150 with 4 guys, but getting it back out with only three took about 30 minutes of head scratching. You raise a good point about running a wide board through it. Unfortunately I didn’t think of that and only ran about a 6” wide board that I had previously jointed flat on one face. One of the knives must have a knick in it because the planed side of the board has a line all the way down, but I was planning on replacing knives anyway, so that wasn’t a big deal. It did come with the knife setting jig, but I haven’t had a chance to download the manual to read about replacing the knives yet, hopefully it is not too bad. There are some areas where the paint is scuffed, so I am thinking about repainting it. It looks like Delta sells OEM paint although it is pretty expensive, but I found some good info online about the formulas you can take to Sherwin Williams to get an exact match. |
