Did a little handle work on the D8, tonight. A pair of needle nosed vise grips to hold the medallion did the trick..

There was a part of a handle that came with a backsaw that got a new walnut one ( more on that in a few) that I cut down to match what was missing on the D8.

Clamped up in the vise. I had two other projects to do while the glue set. That walnut handle needed some router work. And i added another sawnut to it.

The extra sawnut, says Warrented superior

The other project was at the grinder , for about a half an hour. I was grinding a new iron for a profile plane. takes awhile to regrind an old file into a tapered iron. Still need to get a die grinder to complete the profile. post photos when that is done. Speaking of done, glue-up has set up, so i started shapping the “new” handle on the D8

I’ll refinish the whole thing when the shapping is done. Still need two proper sawnuts, but that’s another $2, and a long walk….
