While waiting for the SS demo at a woodworking show, I was talking to a guy that had a SS in his shop. He was telling me about his employee that caused the brake to fire by hitting the off switch, pulling out his tape to check the cut length, and the tape hit the spinning blade. It’s good that the safety is live until the blade stops, but I was not thinking about it until he told me his story. I keep that story in mind when ever I check a cut.

One thing at the SS demo that got me was after going through how the saw does the prestart, and showing how it runs, they touch the blade with the hot dog and ask someone to turn it on. It won’t start! Not that I go around touching blades and trying to start saws, but the tech is good.
