As seen in the pics, I have a Delta planer with legs but no mobility. I would like to know if putting casters on this style of leg would create a problem or if this is a no brainer. I sort of feel like this is a dumb question but the particular piece of the leg has only a plastic type "foot" on it that obviously has a hole in it just right for a caster with stem. I wanted to go ahead and get another opinion if this foot is OK to use with a caster or if I should plan to go another route with making the machine mobile. By the way….what makes these things so darn heavy! It looks lighter than it is :)

I made an open frame of 1×4s. In one case, I sandwiched the foot of the legs between the two boards, and in the other I put one of the caster mounting bolts through the foot. However, I don't know if either of these methods will work for you, as you don't seem to have any horizontal metal at the base of the legs.

I have a cast iron router table with the same lame feet. this weekend I put 2×4 all around the perimeter on their side attached to 1/2" OSB then attached total lock casters to it. Similar idea to Peters but creates a little shelf which was a bonus.
