Great idea, but I have one suggestion that may improve the suction. Cut a few notches along the bottom of the plastic strip. Without a source for air the vacuum doesn’t work as good.
You’ll notice on vacuum attachments, always have notches for air flow. Did you ever notice when you put your hand over a hose end, the RPM goes up. That means the vacuum isn’t working. Actually there’s no load on it.
