Lee’s Carter idea is a good one. Carter makes great guides.

Be advised that you will probably spend more than twice as much for the guides as you do for the bandsaw, but it is likely that the rest of the saw is in good functional condition.

An alternative approach is to purchase the Carter stabilizer (a totally different product from their guides). They work great but you are limited to nothing bigger than a 1/4” blade. With the stabilizer, you don’t use any lower guides.
