I’m getting the R4511 for free. I understand that it would be easier to just buy a new saw, but if I were to go that route, the 4512 probably would not be very high on my list. From the reviews and such I’ve read, the 4511 appears to get significantly more praise than the 4512 (all granite vs. cast center/stamped wings, cabinet vs. table mounted trunnions). My thinking is that for maybe $500-$600 (hopefully less) “investment” and a little effort, I could have a unit that is equal in quality to a new $700-$1,000 saw. Is that unrealistic?
