Advise on this dust collector im thinking of buying

This sweet old lady is selling an oneida mini gorilla. She says her husband barely used it before he got kidney disease and doesnt work in the garage anymore.

Its only 1.5hp but the overall system seems much better than the shop vac and dust deputy im currently using. Anyone out there with this system with advice? The new version is about 1k from oneida. I was thinking about offering $300. Shes asking 500.

Someone here (I think) had one and was replacing the filter every 6 months, and they are expensive. The subject of that thread was finding an aftermarket replacement. I'm not sure he did, though Clark Filters (Pennsylvania) makes one; but they don't sell to the consumer market.

I think I would just modify the system to have a downward elbow and use a bigger filter from oneida or otherwise. kind of like the new version of this DC.

edit: i just got the manual and it seems the hepa filter is completely backflushable with compressed air for cleaning. its pricey at 180 but thats a one time thing. I couldnt bring myself to buy the non hepa filter every 6 months for replacement… its half the price anyway
