Thank you for this post and I appreciate the struggle you had with writing it. I was fortunate to take a political science course in German at the Freie Universitaet in Berlin when I was stationed there in the mid 70’s. Politics are some of the hardest ideas to translate into a language other than your own. I am afraid that the camel’s nose is not only under the tent flap, but half of his neck is too.

I have a picture of a pitchfork in my desk, because the pitchfork is the tool we need most to solve the problems in Washington and Indianapolis. Indianapolis is the capital of Indiana and the state legislature is often worse at suppressing liberty than the Federal Congress. Does Denmark have a similar local legislature as well as the Parliament in Copenhagen? Are yours as tradition and resistant to change as ours our?
