I use to use the crate wood that was used to send marble over from brazil. You would not believe the types of woods they use for regular crate work. I’m talking rose woods or their related species. My dining table I built from this. Also while in Belize I would dive and find the cut offs from the pier building that was extremely dense wood. Even after drying it would sink. Any way check out any local marble places for amazing pallet wood. Also though on this note I have found very odd bugs in this stuff. Just to say I find it odd that there are some many restrictions on importing potential biological contaminates in the crated goods but not the crates themselves.
