your question got my curiosity piqued.

I thought maybe the answer was black euro hinges, but I couldn’t find any. I hadn’t known there are generic soft close gizmos. Hey!

I also learned that they only work with hinges that are self closing.

It’s your call—soft close, and euro knuckles inside, or something else—and there are quality hinges out there that look good on furniture—that doesn’t close with a whisper.
