Thanks for the info Jacob. Yeah, the solid Ash has NOT even been sanded, only planed. At least the plywood is ONLY being used for the inside floor and back panels so if it off just a bit, it might not be that noticed. The side panels, as I indicated will all be solid Ash. I am just hoping to get a closer match than I have thus far.

I am tending to favor the top-right dual-stain of Provincial over Golden Oak. To me, the Provincial only is a bit too gray-chocolate for my tastes. I originally bought it for a project but ended up not using it because I couldn’t get it to look like the samples at HD. I really like bringing out the tree rings without darkening the smooth wood between them.

Another method I might try is (All stains/finishes are Minwax):
1. Tung Oil Finish FIRST
2. THEN do the Golden Oak and/or Provincial Stain.
3. Finish with multiple coats of Tung Oil Finish

Hmm…
