I was actually thinking Makore for the first, possibly pecan, which looks like hickory because it’s in the family, butis darker in color.

He took a picture in the dark, with a flash, and well, it’s gonna make the wood just look different.

P.s yes sometimes flawed exotic woods wind up in pallets, but I doubt makore would.
